Experimentation
So out with google in with something new. Frankly, google sucks donkey butt so I’m not sad about it. Jenn posted a rant a little while ago about not using the search engine, placing ads, or the gmail. Because I’m not going to die if I’m not using gmail I’m going to switch eventually. Google truthfully makes me that sick. You know with the whole penalizing me because I’m not friends with the uber important or I’ve done a paid post here and there. BTW my savings account also says screw you google. We like the posts we do.
Earlier in the week I considered just attempting to do product reviews for really cool things and then I thought eh no. I mean I’d get the stuff, slack on the blogging, and then get in some form of trouble. While I’d like to do it, preferably for the likes of Guess and Prada I’ve decided to really put myself into this posting thing. Something I’ve never done before. I’m actually going to try.
Sure, I cared about PR. With the new ranking system from what I gather it’s all about daily stuff, it’s actually live, and not based on what happened when they got the last wild hair to update. It’s about hits in, hits out, etc. etc. So I decided to do a little experiment. I decided to comment on 5 sites that I don’t normally comment on, ever. Sites that interested me, sites that I had something to say on the blog entries, and sites that I’ll be back to.
Just as I expected my numbers looked better and better this morning. Today my experimentation is to not only comment on the same blogs, or at least try to, but to add a couple more blogs I don’t frequent, as well as be combative in comments. Why? Well because I can. I started out this morning, I saw the perfect opportunity to reply to someone with my “opinion” so to speak. I knew the person didn’t like me very well, I knew the site was known for drama mongers, and well I knew I’d get attention from it.
Unfortunately I’ll be doing good to make the comments and add a couple more sites to comment on since I’m pretty much slammed the rest of the day. I’d hoped to just sit on the net and visit random sites and see all there was to see just for kicks and giggles. For now, we’ll have to see what happens with the antics I’ve already mentioned.
So yeah. My little experiment, does drama pay off? At least in the form of rankings? I don’t know but come about 8:00 Sunday morning I’ll be finding out. If I see that it pays just a little bit I’m inclined to start going to sites of people that I truly am disgusted by, or of products, tv shows, bands, etc. that disgust me and share my opinion whilst leaving my web address for everyone to come see who the major wench is that has a chip on her shoulder.
I don’t see it that way. I’m simply sharing my opinion.
