Experimenting With Food

I love to try and cook new things. Sometimes really simple recipes that you’ve had all your life and sometimes things that are not the norm in this area. I asked Kevin for a ton of new cooking gadgets for Christmas, or shall I say I put them on my Christmas Wish List. I am just in the mood to experiment with some new recipes. On my To Make List are paella and beef wellington. I have always wanted to try both, but you would never find them in a restaurant around here.

Freezing Rain, Oh Yeah

Normally I would be all for the crappy weather like Yay snow! Yay blizzardo! Yay ice, sleet, etc! I am not in love with the freezing crap though. Sydney is going with my step mom to her family Christmas party tomorrow. I hate thinking they are going to be out and about. Maybe it will be melted by then though.

I remember walking home in an ice storm when I was a kid. I was in elementary school. It was one of those where the ice was really sticking thick on the trees and stuff. Back then every kid went out and got those snow boots that were really puffy and thick. I also had a scarf, gloves, and ear muffs. I was warm, that didn’t stop me from falling and busting my ass about 1400 times in a 3 block radius.

And that is what happens when moms work and aren’t there to pick their 8 year olds up during ice storms. Humph.

I’m Just Annoyed

So I just get annoyed sometimes. I dunno maybe it’s just because of the day and all. I shopped all day, fought off all these old ladies and their purse holding husbands. Then Sydney begged to go see my dad and she acted scared of him because he had a scar. Then, when he went to cover up the incision with surgical tape she went into the bathroom to watch him. She’s such a fickle little animal. Then, we take her to dinner and she acts like a raving lunatic.

I dunno, maybe that’s why I get so annoyed with people on the net. People are just stupid who troll the net. I find it amusing that they beg for the least little bit of attention, then when you give it to them they get all bat shit crazy and say you are a drama queen. Hey, you don’t want my opinion? Great, then don’t direct your questions and comments towards me. Ok?

The Importance Of Title Insurance

When we purchased out house there was a ton of mishaps with the title companies. The original company had closed and things had been transferred places that the new title company could not even attempt to realize. I guess that is what happens when you go from old business to new businesses. I personally prefer a company that has been in business for many, many years even if they use an outdated way of doing things. For me it’s a trust issue. The longer a company is there the better the reputation I can look into.

I really didn’t know much about title insurance or the importance of it. Much like insurance of any other kind it’s just that insurance that you are getting what is yours. Since property is usually the most valuable asset a person can have title insurance is a must have to protect yourself and make sure you get a clear title to your real estate. This includes knowing if there are any other claims on the property or existing rights.

If you hire one of the accredited and reliable title insurance companies out there then you will have a ton of benefits that protect you in the future. The company can even defend your title in court if necessary against any claims and even bearing the costs of the court hearing while it’s going on.

I Have No Title

I honestly just can’t be bothered to come up with one right now. My tooth hurts so bad. My dentist appointment isn’t until December 19th and if they think I’m having any work done that day they are nuts. I’m not being in constant pain for Christmas. The pain now is just every once in a while. I don’t know it’s a hard call to make. If I don’t do it that day it will be after the first of the year before I get back in.

Before the first of the year I need to get into the new doctor, a dermatologist, and get my eye exam. Sounds fun doesn’t it? I doubt I’ll get it all done. So much for not paying even more because my deductible starts over on the 1st!

Gift Card Lab

Today I went shopping and in a last ditch effort after six hours I picked up a Gift Certificate for someone that I had no other ideas about. I have such a hard time figuring out to buy some family members. I usually hesitate to buy gift cards because they are so impersonal. I wish I had found GiftCardLab® and done a more personalized card for the family member.

Using this site you can upload digital photos, art, and graphics to create a custom Visa Gift Card. The card was for Kevin’s grandma and I could have put a photo of him as a child on it and she would have loved it. I could have picked from any photo that I have, even one where he is dressed as Santa. It would have been a one of a kind card she’s sure to never get again.

I love this idea for out of town family members. Put your yearly holiday picture on the card and it’s like a double gift for them after they open it. They get to keep the card forever, even after they have used up the monetary part of it.

I’m Shopped Out

I have been shopping all day long. First we set out to take Sydney to my mom’s for a few hours then had lunch. During lunch Kevin got a call to come to work so I came home for a little bit, checked the net, worked on that Christmas layout a little and then browsed Youtube a bit. A whole post on that later.

Then we headed back out. Hobby Lobby it was. I spent almost an hour perusing the place and fighting off old, stupid, women. You know the kind that back up on your rear and wait and huff and puff and then when you finally get to something you want to look at you usually just pass it up to get away from them? Then, when you come back to the isle they are the ones standing in the place looking. I won’t be moving for anyone again, ever.

I got a ton of stuff there. I also hit Walmart and got a few assorted giftbags and things. I’m a whole lot close to being done now then I was this morning and I’m still not done!
