Almost Over

Am I a glass half empty kind of girl? Not particularly, but I have to say that summer is almost over. It’s late July and well, August here is the end of the hurrah as far as hot goes. Swimming weather. Speaking of swimming I love to do it. I’m a water person. That’s why it’s so odd that I haven’t even purchased a new swimsuit this year. I’m seriously slacking. At this rate I may buy something at an end of season clearance, but as for attempting to get out and into the water I’m probably not going to get there.

Self Improvement

A few things going on with my family have been wearing on my nerves lately. Sometimes when people bring up certain situations from my past it makes me feel really, really insecure. I’ve been feeling that way lately. It’s had me picking at my every flaw, stupid little flaws that nobody notices besides me. I have a few little scars on my face that even I need a magnifying glass to see. Still, I can do something about that. I’m going to purchase some acne scars cream and try to diminish them a bit more. I guess I should focus on the things that are easy fixes and not the things that I really feel I have no control over. Maybe by then, these feelings will pass.

Couch Potato

One of my new loves? Soccer. I love watching it on my new huge tv. I also love that it is usually in high definition which makes it look awesome. I need to remember to pick up the proper HDMI cables so the picture looks even better. I think I might be addicted to tv actually. Think about it, so easy to do. You have these really large tv’s with super clear pictures and you feel like you are there. I could see myself watching every sporting event on tv and just becoming a complete couch potato.

Slacking Much

Wow I’ve been slacking so much at everything lately. I did manage to get some back to school shopping done this weekend. Friday I hit Kohl’s. I already had some outfits from The Children’s Place bought. Now I have some super cute stuff from Kohl’s as well. Except they don’t have many pants to fit the kid. Then of course we hit Walmart today for some essentials like glue, pencil box, crayons, colored pencils, etc. Walmart now has Garanimals. I love some of the stuff they make. Plus, I got Sydney a Taylor Swift shirt. I need to make another trip to Walmart just to see what kind of girly clothes they have like Miley Cyrus t’s and such. You know how 5 year olds love that junk!

Family Matters

The fam is really starting to get on my nerves. My grandma wanted her garage cleaned up so she could have a garage sale. No problem, I need to have my annual sale anyway so why not just do it all in one swoop? She is freaking out about everything. She’s driving me nuts. I’m not sure why I’m surprised. For instance, her old screen door that was replaced had the glass insert. She refused to throw it away. She actually threw such a fit when my mom talked to my uncle who said it does not fit her new door, I measured, she cannot use it, without a doubt. She threw the biggest hissy fit saying she’d give it away before she would let someone take it and dump it. Which my husband was willingly going to do for her. She’s really a control freak.

Travel In Style

My best friend was telling me about how her mother would purchase a briefcase or something like it for each of the kids when they graduated from college. It got me wondering how people really travel with their briefcases and if there is a safe way to do it. I hadn’t heard of Zero Halliburton at that time. When I looked into the Habliburton cases I realized they make the really neat polycarbonate silver cases that are considered the ultimate travel case. If you take a look at the site you’ll realize you’ve seen them 100 times. They’re really neat, and they make the same type of case for computers as well. If you are a traveler take a look at the site, they make a few different cases in different colors that are as classy looking as they are efficient.

Only The Best

My aunt wanted to lose some weight so she started asking around about diet pills. She asked a family member that she recently saw how she lost over 100lbs so quickly. She told her the name of the diet pills that she was using. My aunt rushed out and bought some. Coincidentally, they are the same ones I have sitting on my kitchen shelf right now. I took a different approach and looked at a list of best diet pills so I could compare the biggest name brands. I’m pretty confident with my choice. I’ll keep you all posted on any progress I make!

Hitting The Gym

When you can’t bend over to tie your shoes it’s probably time to hit the treadmill again. Or for the first time! My husband and I are both pleasantly plump. We’re so happy. It’s like the Bare Naked Ladies song goes…she’s like a baby I’m like a cat, when we’re happy we both get fat! However, in the summer extra weight doesn’t add any padding to you it just makes you sweat so it’s time to hit the gym man!

Hat Girl

I should have worn some type of hat the other day when I went to the zoo. The sun gets on my forehead and top of my head and burns it and I cannot stand that feeling. I’m not usually one to wear any type of cap. I just don’t feel good in them anymore. I used to wear a Jeff Gordon hat all the time, eek. I’m ashamed to admit that, even though I got tons of compliments on it.

Funnies

Living in Indiana and driving to Indianapolis all the time I’m not any stranger to the Bob and Tom show that is on in the mornings. Right now my husband is watching a show with Tom Mabe who has been featured on the show from time to time. Tom does a funny little bit where he plays a game with a telemarketer and he acts like the guy has just called a crime scene. The stupid telemarketer believes it. Messing with telemarketers is always my favorite type of joke because they so deserve it.
