MMA

That stands for Mixed Martial Arts in case you had no clue. Why would you really have a clue? Kevin has been watching it for like two days straight. Kinda gets on my nerves, but kinda interesting in a really barbaric way. The girls fought last night. Wow, that Crush chick beat some other girls ass off. Then, that one guy Kimbo Slice fought and he popped this other dude’s ear open. Now, it seemed like a low blow and all because Kimbo looked like he was getting beaten so he went for the ear. It was all jacked up and huge and they called it cauliflower ear more times than I like to remember. It popped. I had to ask myself why this guy got in the ring with that looking the way it did. He had to know if he was winning his opponent would go for it.

My favorite thing. Kimbo says, the ref was right to call it because of the ear because I would have gone for it again. Priceless. However, I’d like for soccer to be back on so I don’t have to watch this stuff anymore.

Oh My Aching Ears

Actually, it’s just an ear. The right one is killing me. I shouldn’t be surprised it’s been a lifetime of horror from there. I’m pretty sure it’s the one that had 50% deafness when I was a kid. I guess that’s not much compared to 80%. I’m still deaf, Kevin says I talk sort of like I can’t hear. Do you know what I mean? Like when you hear that lady from Dancing With The Stars, Marlee Matlin, talk? Sometimes I talk like I can’t hear myself.

Anyway, enough about my short comings. My ear is killing me and it’s starting to hurt right down into my jaw as well. It literally just came on last night. I’m feeling pretty miserable and I know it’s all due to drainage so I just feel like complaining a bit. Mission accomplished.

Diamonds Are Forever

So in just a few short months (August 1st) I will have been married for 10 years. I have wanted a diamond anniversary band since I was at year 3. I love them. I love the way they look, etc. Someone said, you have to be married for 10 years. Well darn it, it’s been 10 years so where is my diamond anniversary band at? My husband said if you want we can get a whole new set of rings that are bigger and better.

If I want? Don’t threaten me with diamond rings and expect me not to harass you man! You’ve known me for 12 years, you know better. So here is my problem. I think I would rather plop down the money on an actual second honeymoon than a piece of jewelry. I’m torn. Completely torn on this issue.

Never fear, as always I have a devious plan in the works. I’m going to win the online treasure hunt that jewelelegance.com is sponsoring for some diamond jewelry. This way I’ll have new diamonds, and a second honeymoon to an exotic location, as well as my hubby of 10 years. Three things that will truly last forver!

I Heart Retail Therapy

Sydney usually spends Friday night at my mother’s house. Due to a work change last night was probably the last one for a while. We decided to take advantage of this last opportunity and do some child free shopping. I was browsing D&G sunglasses. I think I’m stuck on Marc Jacobs though. I was also drooling over an orange Coach bag that I wanted. So cute for summer. Kevin didn’t care for it, he actually stuck his nose up at it. He did find some simple sunglasses that he liked and a couple of Patek Gondolo watches that he wouldn’t mind having. Myself? I’ve decided I need to go back and check on a D&G bag that I had my eye on, and perhaps get that cute little orange thing!

Pancakes For Dinner

I really did not feel like cooking tonight. In my defense it was after 9:00 when we ate something for dinner finally. I was craving pancakes all day, so I said pancakes for dinner? My husband agreed because he knows I’m just crazy enough to actually want that. You can see that our eating habits aren’t as good as they should be. I have been thinking about trying to diet and actually taking something that will help me along. I get so impatient. So should I try natural weight loss pills? I hear good things about them and if they are all natural could they really be that bad for you? I’ll let you know.

Computer Upgrade In Process

I hate my computer, my computer hates me. It’s a love hate relationship. It allows me to be online just enough that I can make money and not kick the screen in and I try not to push it too far. I am in serious need of an upgrade. I’m still dreaming of laptop computers and hoping the husband will let me get one. I’d love to lounge outside or in bed on one. I’m truly that lazy too. Plus, I really want to have a laptop at my disposal when I travel for adoption. Whenever that may be.

Exhaustion

I’m exhausted. I can’t even keep my eyes open and it’s only 11:00 pm! I didn’t get up early either. It was about 9:30. In my defense I didn’t go to bed until around 2:00 am though. Got up, wrapped presents and then picked Sydney up. Fought the crowd at Walmart and Factory Card Outlet and then came home to eat lunch. After that I got ready and went to pick up my BFF and we headed over to decorate for the party. I have been going at it since 10:00 am basically. I just got home from having dinner with Kevin and my best friend. I think I’m going to fall into bed now and post more about the party later.

My Man

I found this little meme on Jenn’s site and wanted to do it. Feel free to do the same and if you link me I’ll love you!

What is his name?
Kevin.

How long have you been together?
Wow. We started dating 12 years ago this October. Sweetest Day is our anniversary. We’ve been married for 10 years August 1st!
How long did you date?
I’ll assume this is until we got married and say somewhere between a year and a half to two years.

How old is he?
He’s 29. He’ll be 30 in June.

Who eats more?
Overall him, but I like snack foods which makes me a complete heifer.

Who said I love you first?
Definitely him.

Who is taller?
Him, not by much though.
Who can sing better?
Me I think?

Who is smarter?
He’s smarter in math and sciece and anything like that. I’m definitely better at English and anything creatively. I just told him yesterday that if we went on a game show sign me up for Pop Culture because he fails miserably.

Who does the laundry?
Him until we move. The basement is really hard to get into and I’m fibromyalgicly challenged that way. He washes, I fold/iron/hang.

Who pays the bills?
Him mostly. He makes the money and I suck at staying on top of that stuff. I could buy a new car with the late fees I pay.

Who sleeps on the right side?
Him.
Who mows the lawn?
Him.

Who cooks dinner?
ME!!!!

Who drives?
Always him unless I’m alone of course.

Who is more stubborn?
Him hands down.

Who asked out who first?
We just kinda were. He and his friends all hung out with my cousin. I was hanging at her house and I found him calling on the phone, etc. attempting to talk to me. Somehow I gave him my number without anyone knowing. We started to sneak around the very next day and we’ve been together for 12 years.

Who proposed?
He started to talk about marriage and getting a place together. I trotted him into the jewelry store and we walked out with a ring.

Who had more friends?
I had more, he now has more.

Who is more sensitive?
Me.

Who has more siblings?
Him. He has two brothers and I am an only child.

Who wears the pants?
Him.

Could You Leave Her At Daycare?

null

That’s Sydney. She’s the apple of my eye and my constant source of stress. Sydney currently likes to sing Hannah Montana songs and pretend she’s Stephanie from Lazy Town, hence the pink wig. She throws things in like Hubba Bubba that turns your entire mouth blue just for kicks. After years of trying, worrying, waiting, and wondering we finally made our dream of being parents come true in December 2004. Life’s perfect right? One problem. Mommy likes to shop. She likes to tote her child around in expensive Gymboree outfits and mommy has a soft spot for all things called accessories. Unfortunately we forgot to plant our money trees in the backyard and daddy gets a little put out when mommy buys things that she doesn’t need, constantly. Nobody wanted mommy to go to work and leave this precious little thing at home that she fought so hard to adopt. Just imagine if I weren’t here to kiss away the tears or teach her how to count to ten in Japanese? What if she were at daycare all day long and didn’t even know what LazyTown was and couldn’t act like a super hero? We couldn’t have that could we?

Thankfully I found my saving grace with a company doing something I was already doing, blogging. I’ve been at it for a while now and I’m really excited about the new SocialSpark system. Ask me why I’m so excited? Ok, I’ll tell you. This company has real promise to help me boost above and beyond my earnings to date. That means more money in my savings account, more shopping adventures, more cute kiddie clothes, and best of all I’m sitting at home in my jammies while I do it all.

I don’t have to leave my house on cold winter days and bundle up my child to drop off for someone else to get to entertain all day. If she has a sniffle that doesn’t warrant anything but hugs and kisses then I’m here to give it to her. She’s not with a “stranger” passing the germs on. I honestly feel like I’m getting over on someone or bucking the system somehow by doing this. I don’t have to brush my hair or get dressed up every day. I don’t even get to gripe about the high gas prices that I pay to fill my tank to just get back and fourth to work, because work is in my living room.

You’re all wondering how much money I’ve made aren’t you? I’ll tell you this much. I started out saying that I needed extra cash for this and that and tinkered with this system. Then I wanted to see if I could earn enough money being a mommy blogger to adopt another child eventually. I planned on saving and working on this for a while. When I got my tax information this year I was shocked to see that I made it. I made enough money to adopt all by myself in one year.

I could tell you 100 more reasons why it’s the best job in the world. You just need to check out SocialSpark for yourself and earn some money of your own to know how great it feels. Wake up every morning feeling like a rockstar, sometimes I pretend I am one singing while I type in my robe, ponytail in my hair. You can join the SocialSpark mailing list and get updates on when it goes public and you are able to sign up and start earning that money. The sign up is simple and takes just a few minutes. As long as you have a blog over 90 days old you’re probably good to go. Don’t worry about not knowing how to do this. I was overwhelmed as well at the start. We’re mommies, we can do anything. The fact that the Izea boards are a place to network and ask any question that has been asked by 40 others and not get laughed at is a big plus!

Happy Birthday To Sydney

Happy Birthday Dear Sydney, happy birthday to you!

You have no clue how hard that was for me to type. Oh my. Yesterday my pinky finger was hurting and it looked like I tore a little tiny piece of skin off of it. Today it’s red, bumpy, and hot as heck. Me thinks it has an infection. It’s bandaged up with a huge band-aid. Sydney is amazed by this.  So other than having a rough time typing it’s the heat of the thing I can’t stand. I guess I’ll be pouring various things from the medicine cabinet on it later.

Back to the topic at hand. It’s her birthday. Kevin’s bff has a camera laying around. He’s got a new one and mentioned they needed to sell the old one. Conveniently enough I’m testing it out today. I’d be more than happy to buy it for $4.99 as that’s my budget right now. I’m saving everything for a super sexy camera in the future. Seriously, anything will do at this point as a filler for about a month. In return I hope I can sell it for whatever I pay for it either on ebay or something.
