Nothing

I don’t have nothing to write about. That’s  a good use of the English language isn’t it? Prepare to be amazed at how truly lazy I can be when typing and not even regard grammar, spelling, comprehensive thoughts, etc. Hey you know what will weigh very heavily on your mind? A five year old that never, ever shuts up. It’s constant talk, chatter, singing, screaming, hollering, and oh let’s not forget the crying, from the time she wakes til the time you attempt to make her sleep.

No wonder my brain isn’t functioning today, I mean anymore.

Hannah Montana

Sydney screams Miley all the time. I could honestly kick whoever markets this junk in the face sometimes. Normally I don’t care. She’s actually watching Hannah Montana right now. I was singing along to the Best Of Both Worlds song. When she brushes her teeth in the morning I sing along to Pumpin Up The Party, hey oh I’m pumpin up the party now. And, when she’s on the radio singing I Can’t Wait To See You Again, I’m the first to sing that whole the last time I freaked out….lalala. I also know the song she has with her dad.

Welcome, to the sad and pathetic existence that is a mom with a 5 year old girl. Oh Sweet Nibblets.

To Be Young Again…

Sydney cracked me up the other day. We got a pamphlet in the mail for life insurance for children. It said something about getting good rates early so you could have them for the rest of your life. She picked up the brochure that had children all over it and asked if it was the book you looked at to see what kids you wanted to go adopt. She also frequently says which kids to “buy”. She just cracks me up sometimes with this stuff. She has no clue how important something like life insurance really is and that we’re looking into it for not only us, but for her!

I Heart Retail Therapy

Sydney usually spends Friday night at my mother’s house. Due to a work change last night was probably the last one for a while. We decided to take advantage of this last opportunity and do some child free shopping. I was browsing D&G sunglasses. I think I’m stuck on Marc Jacobs though. I was also drooling over an orange Coach bag that I wanted. So cute for summer. Kevin didn’t care for it, he actually stuck his nose up at it. He did find some simple sunglasses that he liked and a couple of Patek Gondolo watches that he wouldn’t mind having. Myself? I’ve decided I need to go back and check on a D&G bag that I had my eye on, and perhaps get that cute little orange thing!

Exhaustion

I’m exhausted. I can’t even keep my eyes open and it’s only 11:00 pm! I didn’t get up early either. It was about 9:30. In my defense I didn’t go to bed until around 2:00 am though. Got up, wrapped presents and then picked Sydney up. Fought the crowd at Walmart and Factory Card Outlet and then came home to eat lunch. After that I got ready and went to pick up my BFF and we headed over to decorate for the party. I have been going at it since 10:00 am basically. I just got home from having dinner with Kevin and my best friend. I think I’m going to fall into bed now and post more about the party later.

Could You Leave Her At Daycare?

null

That’s Sydney. She’s the apple of my eye and my constant source of stress. Sydney currently likes to sing Hannah Montana songs and pretend she’s Stephanie from Lazy Town, hence the pink wig. She throws things in like Hubba Bubba that turns your entire mouth blue just for kicks. After years of trying, worrying, waiting, and wondering we finally made our dream of being parents come true in December 2004. Life’s perfect right? One problem. Mommy likes to shop. She likes to tote her child around in expensive Gymboree outfits and mommy has a soft spot for all things called accessories. Unfortunately we forgot to plant our money trees in the backyard and daddy gets a little put out when mommy buys things that she doesn’t need, constantly. Nobody wanted mommy to go to work and leave this precious little thing at home that she fought so hard to adopt. Just imagine if I weren’t here to kiss away the tears or teach her how to count to ten in Japanese? What if she were at daycare all day long and didn’t even know what LazyTown was and couldn’t act like a super hero? We couldn’t have that could we?

Thankfully I found my saving grace with a company doing something I was already doing, blogging. I’ve been at it for a while now and I’m really excited about the new SocialSpark system. Ask me why I’m so excited? Ok, I’ll tell you. This company has real promise to help me boost above and beyond my earnings to date. That means more money in my savings account, more shopping adventures, more cute kiddie clothes, and best of all I’m sitting at home in my jammies while I do it all.

I don’t have to leave my house on cold winter days and bundle up my child to drop off for someone else to get to entertain all day. If she has a sniffle that doesn’t warrant anything but hugs and kisses then I’m here to give it to her. She’s not with a “stranger” passing the germs on. I honestly feel like I’m getting over on someone or bucking the system somehow by doing this. I don’t have to brush my hair or get dressed up every day. I don’t even get to gripe about the high gas prices that I pay to fill my tank to just get back and fourth to work, because work is in my living room.

You’re all wondering how much money I’ve made aren’t you? I’ll tell you this much. I started out saying that I needed extra cash for this and that and tinkered with this system. Then I wanted to see if I could earn enough money being a mommy blogger to adopt another child eventually. I planned on saving and working on this for a while. When I got my tax information this year I was shocked to see that I made it. I made enough money to adopt all by myself in one year.

I could tell you 100 more reasons why it’s the best job in the world. You just need to check out SocialSpark for yourself and earn some money of your own to know how great it feels. Wake up every morning feeling like a rockstar, sometimes I pretend I am one singing while I type in my robe, ponytail in my hair. You can join the SocialSpark mailing list and get updates on when it goes public and you are able to sign up and start earning that money. The sign up is simple and takes just a few minutes. As long as you have a blog over 90 days old you’re probably good to go. Don’t worry about not knowing how to do this. I was overwhelmed as well at the start. We’re mommies, we can do anything. The fact that the Izea boards are a place to network and ask any question that has been asked by 40 others and not get laughed at is a big plus!

Who-Cakes

So at this point I’m pretty sure I’ve ruled out the possibility that I’m having a heart attack, although about an hour ago I was scared. I woke up this morning after a really bad night to pain in my chest. I’m chalking it up to no sleep and fibromyalgia. It got worse as the day went on and while trying to iron some laundry my shoulder started to hurt really bad as well. Now, of course my hand starts to tingle because I think it’s all in my mind at that point. Honestly, if I press my breast it hurts so bad I can’t stand it, so that’s where the chest pain is located. It’s like someone beat the crap out of me in my sleep.

Moving on. I suck at this whole internet thing anymore. I have layout block, creative block, and I have been feeling really bad lately so I just am blocked. I’ll get back to normal…I promise. If I don’t, shoot me and scatter my ashes on the sidewalk in front of the local Coach retailer and we’ll call it a day.

Sydney turned 5 yesterday. My camera is busted so I resorted to crappy cell phone photos during that IHOP dinner. She had to have those Whocakes, she talked about them for a week. She didn’t like them when they got there. In her defense they were pretty darn nasty! She still ate a good portion. I’m making alternate camera arrangements for the weekend so I’ll have party pics to share. For now, crappy cell phone pics of a mountain of Whocakes!

Happy Birthday To Sydney

Happy Birthday Dear Sydney, happy birthday to you!

You have no clue how hard that was for me to type. Oh my. Yesterday my pinky finger was hurting and it looked like I tore a little tiny piece of skin off of it. Today it’s red, bumpy, and hot as heck. Me thinks it has an infection. It’s bandaged up with a huge band-aid. Sydney is amazed by this.  So other than having a rough time typing it’s the heat of the thing I can’t stand. I guess I’ll be pouring various things from the medicine cabinet on it later.

Back to the topic at hand. It’s her birthday. Kevin’s bff has a camera laying around. He’s got a new one and mentioned they needed to sell the old one. Conveniently enough I’m testing it out today. I’d be more than happy to buy it for $4.99 as that’s my budget right now. I’m saving everything for a super sexy camera in the future. Seriously, anything will do at this point as a filler for about a month. In return I hope I can sell it for whatever I pay for it either on ebay or something.

Out Of Shape

I can’t believe how out of shape I have gotten. I’m really puny and just can’t even lift a bag of sugar without complaining. I honestly can’t lift my 5 year old. If I had to, I’d work through it, but if she’s being lazy she is out of luck. We’re joining this center that has a few different programs and an indoor pool. It’s in the next town over and it’s really, really nice. I’m pretty excited about the pool and getting Sydney swimming lessons as soon as they offer them and checking out the weight equipment so I can build up some muscle.

Lions & Tigers & Bears…Oh My

Quite a few years ago when I was just out of high school the really popular thing with my group of friends was to take road trips. The really neat thing about a road trip is the spur of the moment, not planning anything, not knowing where you are going to end up aspect of it all. The downside to it is that you usually end up missing out on all the cool things that city has to offer because of the lack of planning involved.

Like one time when we ended up in Illinois. It was a pretty long road trip, but we were determined to make it to Chicago and have some fun. With all of us being under the age of 21 it wasn’t like we could wander into any local hot spot at night and just meet people. We found ourselves checking into the cheapest hotel and looking for things to do in Chicago. The fact that it was midday and most of the things we could think of were closing for the evening.

Unfortunately for us we had to leave the very next day to just get back home in time for school. So, our trip to Chicago ended up consisting of many fast food stops, many gas station breaks, and a really long, hot car ride with great music. I haven’t been back there since, but I still want to visit the Shedd Aquarium. If I had done a little bit of planning with Trusted Tours & Attractions I would have been able to plan that out a little better and spend my one day in Chicago there instead of the local roach motel. I could have also found a much better motel at a similar rate.

Lucky for my family I plan a lot better these days. I was browsing the Trusted Tours site for some family vacation ideas for this summer. Sydney is begging to go to a zoo, any zoo that will take us. Sure, we could visit the local one, but it’s just not as exciting as one of the top zoo’s in the country would be. I’m considering a short trip to the San Diego zoo which would have everything we are hoping to see and more.

While I was on the site I saw that they are giving away an iPod Nano. All you have to do is sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter and you are entered to win. I figured it was a win/win situation. I’ll sign up for the newsletter and get valuable information on traveling, something I love to do, and I might end up winning an iPod Nano to listen to while I’m getting to my destination. Feel free to sign up as well, offer ends March 31st, 2008.
