Adding Images Makes For Excitement
I love using images in my posts, but you don’t see me doing it that often. Why? Several reasons. It takes a while to find images from sites that allow them to be used. From there on I have to save the photo, upload it to either my site or a free web hosting site. This all takes time and space. I have actually strayed away from really nice layouts that have images incorporated into daily blog postings because of this issue.
Not anymore! I’m going to start using Acobox, which provides free images for bloggers. I signed up with the service and it took me literally 3 minutes to pick a username, get an activation email, and start looking for images. I browsed the categories and of course ended up in arts, culture, and entertainment. One thing that has me really excited is the prospect of starting an entertainment blog and knowing that I’m using images that I’m legally allowed to put in my blog postings. This is something that has been stopping me for a while now from starting a site that I’m very interested in.
Acobox has free blog images in just about any category you can imagine. Another really neat feature is that you can hotlink the images. No more saving to your own computer, uploading to another source, and then posting in your blog entry. Simply copy the link and add it to your post, just like this.
It took me a couple minutes to find a photo that I liked to use here. I surfed around the site and found one of the London Eye, clicked for the code, and here we are. I even had the option to align the image or pick from several sizes. The size options are really nice because I get so irritated with trying to re-size things and make them look good.
If you become a member you will have access to all these services as well, for free. You can also add photos to Acobox. Even if you aren’t a professional photographer give it a shot, this will only grow the service and make it even more useful to bloggers like me!
