Adding Images Makes For Excitement

I love using images in my posts, but you don’t see me doing it that often. Why? Several reasons. It takes a while to find images from sites that allow them to be used. From there on I have to save the photo, upload it to either my site or a free web hosting site. This all takes time and space. I have actually strayed away from really nice layouts that have images incorporated into daily blog postings because of this issue.

Not anymore! I’m going to start using Acobox, which provides free images for bloggers. I signed up with the service and it took me literally 3 minutes to pick a username, get an activation email, and start looking for images. I browsed the categories and of course ended up in arts, culture, and entertainment. One thing that has me really excited is the prospect of starting an entertainment blog and knowing that I’m using images that I’m legally allowed to put in my blog postings. This is something that has been stopping me for a while now from starting a site that I’m very interested in.

Acobox has free blog images in just about any category you can imagine. Another really neat feature is that you can hotlink the images. No more saving to your own computer, uploading to another source, and then posting in your blog entry. Simply copy the link and add it to your post, just like this.

It took me a couple minutes to find a photo that I liked to use here. I surfed around the site and found one of the London Eye, clicked for the code, and here we are. I even had the option to align the image or pick from several sizes. The size options are really nice because I get so irritated with trying to re-size things and make them look good.

If you become a member you will have access to all these services as well, for free. You can also add photos to Acobox. Even if you aren’t a professional photographer give it a shot, this will only grow the service and make it even more useful to bloggers like me!

Tomorrow Is Tuesday

Election Day!!!! Don’t forget to get out and vote. We’re out of excuses here in Indiana. The weather is going to be fantastic so no hang ups there. The Republicans really need to get out and vote because they are at risk of Indiana flipping and being a Democratic state for the first time like, ever? In my case I’m voting for Obama so I need to get out and vote to see if we can flip this state!!!

After The Crisis

Everyone keeps saying that if you don’t have perfect credit you aren’t going to be able to get home loans in the future. I think that’s a lie. I think that when this “crisis” actually turns around they’ll be giving loans to everyone they can. Anyone that remotely qualifies will be seeking a loan and getting them, and it will be a sellers market. At least, that’s what I’m counting on. That’s when I’m going to attempt to sell my house and purchase a bigger one. I’ve started looking around for different things to spruce this place up and have it ready to put on the market in less than a year. One thing we need to look at are bathroom faucets. Our bathroom can really use some sprucing, and they say the bath and kitchen are major areas to put work into for sellers!

Winter Misery

Ughh. My face is breaking out so bad. It’s that time of month and I have counted more zits than usual on my face. To make matters worse my skin is so dry and flaky that it’s just miserable feeling. I need to look up some good acne treatment for dry winter skin and see if I can get it to take. My chin is killing me, I think I’ve got a major breakout there. Oh and my eyebrows, I hate getting them in my eyebrows!

Ouch!

Somehow I hurt my back yesterday. It’s sort of around my hip, but it radiates a little. The radiating pain makes me think it’s due to my period that’s getting ready to start. Whatever the reason, I’m in misery. I was standing in the kitchen, not even moving and boom! Huge really bad pain in my hip area. Felt like someone stuck a knife directly in my bone. It was so unbearable last night I wanted to puke. Today I’ve eaten ibuprofen like nothing and it’s making it tolerable, that’s wearing off now actually. My friend suggested arthritis. Gosh, I hope not!

Black Friday, Fast Approaching

Did I tell you all how I’m in love with shopping on the day after Thanksgiving? Last year was my first year attending any Black Friday sales as an adult, with a choice, and money of my own. I loved it. I got so many toys for cheap that I couldn’t believe it. It was a huge rush, and a lot of savings. This year I’m planning on helping myself out a little bit more with the use of thanksgiving flyers!

I’m going to shop from home on my computer after I hit the stores. I’ll avoid some of the hassle of being out all day and I’ll get even more deals. Last year I just wasn’t done shopping when I hit the stores we had in town. This year I’d love to have some deals from online sites that I don’t have access to drive to. One of those stores is Toys R Us.

Another great thing about iBlackFriday.com is that you can get email updates as soon as the Black Friday ads have been posted to the site. Plus, you have access to coupon codes that provide even more discounts like free shipping or an extra percentage off of already existing sales. With all this happening online, do I really even need to get up at 3:00 am this year?

Sick On Halloween

It seemed like when I was growing up I made a tradition of being sick on Halloween. I remember being too sick to trick or treat and walking around with my cousins anyway. Just too sick to dress up and too sick to walk up to the house, etc. Looks like my daughter is going to uphold that tradition. Her teacher told me today to watch her because she’s been raspy, not a big deal as she does this. However, her classmates are sick, have fevers, and one case of strep going on. I decided to load her up with all kinds of meds and even a vapor rub on her chest in hopes she’ll get better. I’d hate her to miss her Halloween!!!

The Weather Kills My Body

Ughh the weather out here is horrible. It’s taking it’s toll on my skin and hair. I’ve got a bunch of frizzed up hair from the humidity and a fair amount of acne breakouts. I’m not sure why my skin goes nuts this time of year. It’s like it can’t make the jump from hot to cold and somewhere in the middle. It’s driving me nuts. On top of acne I have itchy and dry patches all over me. Can’t wait for it to be dry and cold out!

I Think I’m Lazy

I hate exercise. I just hate it, there’s no way of getting around how bad I hate physical activity, and that does not make me lazy. I think it means there’s something wrong with me, something needs a push. I used to love to get up and just go when I was younger, now I’m sluggish and unmotivated. The only real exercise I like is outside. It’s like you have no clue you are doing it. This is my philosophy on diet pills that work as well. If you’re not dieting, but taking a pill that actually works for you then you really can’t be pessimistic about it can you?

Upgrading My Office

I think I’m going to shop for a new computer monitor this weekend. I want a flat screen that’s bigger than what I have now. Something more than 20 inches will do just fine. Since I’m ordering the new computer desk I’m really into getting my computer spiffed up and maybe even adding some computer memory or even an entire new unit? I’m just in the mood to upgrade the home office. We seem to use it for everything!
