Going Green One Product At A Time

One of my resolutions for 2008 is to help my family Go Green. I am the type of person who gets their information from magazines, news clips, and the internet. I’m not one to sit down and read an entire book on a topic, I want short and informative ways to help my family make life long changes. That is why a blog is a perfect place for me to start. The Going Green Blog, GreenMusings is a blog where the employees share their experiences with being green, and best of all photos. This is the way the masses learn slowly and it catches on for the long term.

My main focus is switching to some simple eco products that make a big difference. On the GreenandMore.com website you can find over 100 eco friendly products for every day use. As I look around I see that they have a bedding category so I take a look. I figure I’m getting a new bed anyhow and I want Down Bedding, so why not go with the “green” variety of Down? The downside? A little bit more in price, but worth it when you weigh out the benefits and the fact that it’s hypoallergenic. When I was done shopping I took a minute to educate myself in the Green Learning Center on the site.

I know you have seen 100 companies out there that say they have the best eco friendly product for you, just like I have. I ask myself what these companies give back from the profits of those products and go from there. GreenandMore actually supports charities like Oceana and Healthy Child Healthy World which shows me that they truly believe in what they are selling me, not that they had to jump on the bandwagon to look good. They also make it a point to practice what they preach by using Green practices at their company.

While everything isn’t eco friendly yet, there is more than enough to choose from already. You can shop solar powered products or energy saving appliances if you are ready to start switching over already existing things in your home. If you aren’t ready to take that leap but you are in the market for home furnishings or decorations you can still make a difference. Did you know you can even Go Green with your handbags?
